Top Five Facts about the Lotus Emira

Formerly Malaysia-owned Lotus sports cars is on the verge of introducing the new Lotus Emira. Here are five facts that you should know of the legacy left behind by Colin B. Chapman.

The Lotus Emira, or Lotus Type 131, is scheduled to be unveiled Tuesday (6/7) at the Lotus Advanced Performance Center, Hethel, England.

Next, Lotus will bring Emira to the Goodwood Festival of Speed ​​(8-11/7) for the first dynamic introduction.

What will the Lotus Emira hypercar look like ? Lotus has provided some insights which we have summarized in these five interesting facts.

FACT 1.  Lotus has confirmed that the Lotus Emira will be powered by multiple internal combustion engine options, not hybrid or electric power. Details regarding the combustion engine and Lotus Emira specifications will also be introduced at launch.

FACT 2.  Lotus Emira will also be Lotus's latest latest car that uses an internal combustion engine. After the Emira, Lotus will focus on developing and launching an electric sports car.

FACT 3.  Lotus confirmed that the Emira will be built from one of the four new platforms that Lotus is developing for future cars. The four platforms are Sports Car architecture, Hypercar architecture, Premium Architecture, and Electric sports car architecture. Now for the Lotus Emira, the British manufacturer has chosen the Sports Car architecture as the basis for development.

FACT 4.  What3words (W3W) geolocation technology will also "benefit" Lotus Emira owners after it was first applied to Lotus Evija. This technology divides the map into 3 x 3 meter squares and assigns each square 3 unique keywords.

FACT 5.  Along with this announcement, Lotus also shared a little leak regarding the appearance of the Lotus Emira. The leak shows a distinctive front like the Evija, a bit of the rear, and a digital interior.
