HOME BUYERS LOVE LANDED PROPERTIES 

Terrace houses and superlink terrace houses (referring to double-storey terrace houses with a width of 24 feet or more) are still the favourites of developers and home buyers in the Klang Valley.

Out of the 31 new projects in the Klang Valley in the first half of 2021, 15 or 44% launched landed house  and luxury superlink terrace houses; there were 6 in the same period 2020, accounting for half of the new developments at that time.

A total of 23 new projects, or 68% of were landed houses, while 11 new projects (32%) launched were high-rise residential properties.

In the same duration (2020), there were 7 landed projects, and 6 new high-rise residential buildings respectively.

In terms of the number of new landed houses and high-rise residential buildings, the latter has a total of 4849 units; a year-on-year increase of 32.36% over the 4697 units in the first half of last year.

The growth rate of the former was even more drastic. In the first half of this year, the number of landed houses was 2,082, which was 55.37% higher than the 1,340 in the same period last year.



THE GENERAL PURSUIT FOR A LARGER HOME

If the price itself is sufficient to reflect the performance of the entire market, then the first half of this year has proven well for the same period in the past year.

In the first half of this year, a total of 11 new projects launched, units are priced at RM751 per square feet and above, while only two new projects had similar price the same period last year.

After the outbreak of COVID-19, the trend of home buyers seeking homes in order to maintain personal distance have been in demand.

Among the 31 new projects in the first half of this year, as many as 20 (59%) projects are with a floor area of ​​more than 2,000 square feet. In the same period last year, 6 out of 12 new projects had similar sizes.

In addition, all 31 new projects built-up areas ranges from 801 to 1800 square feet.
